Get With Leo

                        Sept 24, @))^

I haven't read the LA Times much lately, so when it stacks up I try to glance at what I can while I'm in the process of discarding it. As you know, that type shit happens on sundays,  so today I was going through the stack of papers dated Sept. 10 and sich, and in today's paper there was an article that for some reason piqued my interest, so I sat down to read it. The story was about a soldier's death in Iraq (the US currently occupies Iraq).

After I'd finished reading it, I not only reflected on the genuine sadness of the article, I also patted myself on the back for subscribing to the Tizimes even though I've been slacking.  Finding an article by chance that helps to shape your world view is worth a coupla bucks a week, anytime.

To substitute not reading the paper as often as we should, I've found myself listening to more talk radio.  And even though Air America has failed by removing Mike Malloy.... sunday nights on KABC 790 continues to be the place for all the humanity, sarcasm, common sense and laughs that make a talk show shine.

Leo Terrell used a segment to spotlight the same horrible death I'd read about in the LA Times.  The one article I've read in the past three weeks. Pure genius. You'd be wise to check out his show.

Aunt Randi Wants You

     January 28, 2006

Randi Rhodes is working for all of us again.

I guess Aaron Brown is positioning himself to be the TV News version of Al Gore.  1) Get a boot in your crotch.  2) Find voice. It sounds like his last severance check is coming on Wednesday.  Rhodes clowned him, saying it was a fine time to speak out, now that he has no audience.

Is there a new breed of anchors to carry the mantle?  No, seriously, you said that too fast.

TruthSeekers Love the 80's

           January 22, 2006

Mike Malloy, one of the hardest talk show hosts going, is hitting the teleprompter. But his script is one you don't often hear on AM radio. He's taking 6 minutes each night on his show to read from George Orwell's "1984."  This is straight up Lenny Bruce type stuff. He's literally being the town crier. He's on your local Air America affiliate from 10pm-1am weekdays.

Give the Drummer Some

   October 6, 2005

It figures a drummer, John Densmore, would be the most hardcore brother of the 60's, Is he the only one whose fire is still lit? (or here)

I sometimes fall into the short-sighted trap of thinking conventional wisdom is permanent thought. It only becomes that if you give in to the peer pressure. Nothing's changed, just ask J. Densmore. The folks we rail against look at it with a scoreboard mentality. The lifestyle they "acquire" is soulless and empty; and keeps therapists, gurus and psychics in business.

What's jackin me up is that I had given up trying to make this arguement, and act like nothing in me had changed. I'm not sure of the grammer but, that's what people who suck do.

  J. Densmore's point is philosophically impossible to refute, and that, is the end.

Bill Bennett's Big Gamble

       September 30, 2005

Remember Bill Bennett?  He compiled a bunch of stories, put his name on it and had the nerve to call it "The Book of Virtues".  It made Keyshawn Johnson look like the kid who found a lower price in those Circuit City commercials awhile back. The title alone makes it sound as if Bennett has some stuff that was left on King James' cutting room floor.

Later it was confirmed that this guy is a piece of shit, and this man's comic strip is right up there with Boondocks when it comes to layin the truth on your funny bone.

Well now Bill's said some shit that makes John Rocker look like Branch Rickey. Since he's almost certainly anti abortion (unless it would harm the mother), I feel like it gives off the vibe that he wouldn't mind if Black people currently alive were "aborted" to support his instigation. Sure, he tried to put white out on his comment, but what if he really feels like we have to fight crime at any cost?  I'm too young to die!
